About
Mali is Swahili for wealth. That’s not a coincidence.
We think the best real estate on this island should be ownable by the people who love it, not only by the people who can wire $250,000.
Why we built this
The same question, over and over.
Everyone who spends real time in Zanzibar eventually asks some version of the same question: could I own something here? And then they see a price, do the arithmetic against their savings, and put the idea away.
Meanwhile the island keeps growing. Flights keep being added. Developments keep going up and keep filling with guests. The returns are real — they are just gated behind a ticket size that almost nobody clears.
Fractional ownership is not a new idea. Funds have done it for decades, and platforms in Dubai and elsewhere have made it work for retail investors. It had simply never been done properly for East Africa, in the market that is actually early.
So we built it here, with one rule: every investor sees the same numbers, the same documents and the same risks that we see.

How we operate
Four principles we’ll be held to.
Show the maths or don't list it
Every projection on this site comes with the assumptions underneath it. If we can't defend a number in writing, the deal doesn't get published.
Say it when it goes wrong
Construction slips. Seasons underperform. You will hear about it from us in a quarterly report, not infer it from a quiet period.
Get paid when you get paid
A part of what we earn is a share of rental income. If the property doesn't earn, that part of our income doesn't exist either.
Small enough to be careful
We list roughly one property a quarter. We would rather turn down nine deals and underwrite the tenth properly than build a catalogue.
The team
People, not a logo.
You will be trusting us with capital across an ocean. Before the first funding round opens, you will know exactly who we are.
Founder
Living on Zanzibar
MALI is founded and run from Zanzibar. We will introduce the people behind it here before the first funding round opens.
